WHAT EXACTLY IS GHEE?

 IT IS ACTUALLY JUST CLARIFIED BUTTER. 

 

WHERE DID THE NAME “GHEE” COME FROM?

GHEE DERIVED ITS NAME THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO (FROM THE ANCIENT AYERVEDIC MEDICINE PRACTICE OF NORTH INDIA). THEY CLARIFIED THE BUTTER SO THAT IT WOULD NOT SPOIL. 

 

DOES GHEE NEED TO BE REFRIGERATED?

SINCE THE PROTEIN IS REMOVED FROM GHEE (IT IS THE WHITE, CHUNKY PART OF THE GHEE-MILK SOLIDS, THAT IS LEFT BEHIND AFTER COOKING AND STRAINING), IT DOES NOT REQUIRE REFRIGERATION. IT IS SAID THAT THE LONGER GHEE SITS ON THE SHELF, THE BETTER IT BECOME, (SORT OF LIKE A GOOD RED WINE). 

 

WHAT MAKES GHEE SO GREAT?

 GHEE IS PACKED WITH NUTRIENTS! IT IS A SUPERFOOD. IT CONTAINS ALL OF THE GOOD FATS THAT OUR BRAINS NEED, FOR HEALTHY FUNCTION. GHEE IS FULL OF SHORT, MEDIUM AND LONG CHAIN FATTY ACIDS. GHEE ACTUALLY CONTAINS 25% MORE SHORT AND LONG CHAIN FATTY ACIDS THAN BUTTER. THESE ARE THE FATTY ACIDS NECESSARY TO KEEP OUR BRAINS HEALTHY AND OUR BODY’S FIT. THEY ACTUALLY HELP US TO LOSE THE UNWANTED FAT WE TEND TO CARRY IN OUR MIDDLE REGIONS.

 

GHEE IS SUPER HIGH IN CLA (CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID). CLA IS A FATTY ACID THAT HAS OODLES OF AMAZING HEALTH BENEFITS.
